I read this somewhere few days back...
There are two primary choices in life - to accept conditions as they exist
or accept responsibility for changing them.
There have been lots of instances in my life where ive found myself at crossroads...my mind telling somethin & my heart something else. its like a another person exists within u who has different tastes, different priorities, different likes & dislikes...One more logical & cautious, living this life based on a tried & tested recipe...Knowing what will be the outcome, & always sure that nothing radically bad is going to comeout it if not something extremely good. life will be just as it is...The other one wild, risk taker, craving for zeal in life, would love to take the untreaded path, not sure of what the outcome will be...
One single life..& lots to explore. ist it too unfair???? at this time when iam sitting here in the office trying to just finish whats in hand...i could be somewhere else...doing something i love to do......options are unending...to be frank ive lived 22 yrs of my life the way i was told to live...studies career, marriage, kids, grandkids & so on, this is the conventional way of living...moreover the worst part is there is even a time line for all this....Few may think that living an unconventional life is running away from responsibilities....i disagree...it requirea a great deal of guts to break this system....live this life on your own terms & conditions.....experience new things....& at the end of everything accept complete resposibility for what ever may be the outcome...just take each & everything as an experience...

Well said dear..To my mind there exists a cycle of life which begins by taking birth and facing death.. For these two instances we have no choice..These are instances which cant be altered..

Right between these two moments lies what is called life..and here we do have choices..except the fact that to make them requires courage..

Living life on ur own terms and bending the rules of life are decisions we usually make considering our environment..Its funny as u said that everything is so timed..Studies, Marriage, kids , etc etc..

I heard this lovely one liner "Fortune favours the brave".. and it signifies an element of courage and strength that is required to be differentiated from what is normal!!

Anyways.. Happy Hunting!!

When I think about this what strikes me is you can lead life like a served meal where you take what is served to you and be content with it and relish it or treat it like a buffet where you have to choice to pick, explore and try what you want in any order

Hey there Divya,

this is thiru ( a friend of Sailesh), got to read your blog... makes sense to some extent. I'm not trying to contradict your views or neither am I completly seconding your opinion, but at times conventions do matter. As Mark Twain puts... "We are strange beings, we seem to go free, but we go in chains - chains of training, custom, convention, association, environment - in a word, Circumstance - and against these bonds the strongest of us struggle in vain." So, even if I were to break all rules of engagement & aim at being an unconventional individual, the society would brand me as a renegade, but on the other hand, you just can't live the way you want to... you should probably strike a right balance with your society. There are just my views, anyway, pleasure to comment on your blog. You can check out mine too... http://mnemonix.blogspot.com
